Product:  CoreGuard
Company:  Vormetric
Type:  System
Description:  The CoreGuard System consists of software Policy Enforcement Modules (PEMs) and a Security Server appliance cluster.

The thin CoreGuard PEMs are installed on hosts that serve as access points to protected information, where they can identify the context of data access requests, protect the integrity of the host and verify the authenticity of its applications. The Security Server provides a central point of management as well as secure storage for information protection policies and keys.

The secure nature of the CoreGuard design stems from its separation of the PEM from the Security Server appliance. This separation enables the enforcement of segregation of duties policies by permitting the assignment of policy management to security administration while allowing IT administration to manage the host server platform.
