ABSTRACT:
This session will cover how to assess protection needs and test network's recoverability. Attendees will learn how to recover both LANs and WANs. In addition to core networks, the session will discuss many of the technologies key to modern corporate networks, such as VPNs, remote access, IP telephony and unified communications. On the WAN side, the session also will look at how WAFS and WAN optimization and acceleration can improve a DR strategy. On the telephony side, Wrobel also will discuss fixed vs. cellular options. Lastly, attendees will get insight into the role that hot sites and managed services can play.

Leo A. Wrobel has three decades of experience in emerging network technology, disaster recovery planning, and technical training. A nationally renowned technical futurist, Wrobel is CEO of Dallas-based b4Ci Inc., where contingency planning constitutes a large portion of his company's practice. Wrobel is the author of several books, including The Definitive Guide to Business Resumption Planning and Writing Disaster Recovery Plans for Telecom & LAN. He holds degrees in Telecommunications Systems Technology, Electronic Systems Technology and Business and Public Policy.
