Miko Matsumura joined Software AG, where he is now a Vice President and Deputy CTO, when the company acquired webMethods in 2007. He had been Vice President of SOA Products at webMethods. Prior to joining webMethods Inc., Matsumura was Vice President of Product Marketing at Infravio. He worked at The Middleware Company on the development of the SOA Blueprints. He is the former Chief Java Evangelist for from Sun Microsystems. During this time at Sun he was a visible spokesperson for Java technologies. Additionally, he worked closely with Java ISVs and licensees to further the developer community. Since then he has been involved in Java companies raising 12 million in capital for several Java startups. He is an advisor to the Asia Java Fund, a limited partner with Focus Ventures and an advisor to start up companies including TogetherSoft (acquired by Borland), Dejima (acquired by Sybase) and Kendara (acquired by Excite). He is a software technology enthusiast and likes to think about the "next" thing in software. He holds an MBA from San Francisco State University and a master's degree in Neuroscience from Yale University.
