ABSTRACT:

The Maestro's ability to monitor storage systems and analyze data across file systems provides a detailed picture of the storage landscape. Contained within this information is the location of unused, isolated storage. The Maestro volume manager allows multiple types of storage to be consolidated into growable storage repositories that can then be shared out to applications and users. Access control to data within these storage repositories is seamlessly provided by standard Windows file attributes as expected. On-going use of the Maestro's storage monitoring feature, in conjunction with the volume manager and policy engine, provides a straightforward means to manage the storage environment.
