ABSTRACT:
Thermal Zone Mapping (TZM) is a visualization tool developed to present in graphical format highlevel thermal metrics developed by HP and targeted for use as part of the HP Data Center Thermal Assessment service. This tool uses data generated from computer models of the data center and generates metrics, which are then post-processed and visualized in the three-dimensional data center space. Output from the tool can be used to optimize the placement of equipment in a data center, investigate failure scenarios, and make sure that a proper cooling solution has been achieved.
In this briefing, learn how Thermal Zone Mapping is a novel way of representing and visualizing the environmental behavior of a "greenfield" or existing data center, allowing for easier and more complete understanding of this behavior. This, in turn, allows data center/facilities managers to make informed decisions regarding current and future data center operations.
