ABSTRACT:
Use of virtual servers is rapidly growing as businesses recognize the cost savings that can be achieved by virtualizing their environments. But virtual environments introduce a new level of complexity to backup and recovery of data.
In order to quantify the performance of several backup and recovery offerings, engineers ran a series of tests on a VMware ESX server environment configured with three virtual machines that were connected to a Fibre Channel storage area network (SAN).
